Today, Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) introduced the Save Women’s Sports Act. This legislation would prohibit schools that receive Federal financial assistance from allowing biological males to compete against females in athletics. Schools that aren’t in compliance with the law would be at risk of losing their federal funding.
“We are not going to sit back and let federally funded schools strip away the Title IX protections for female athletes,” said Rep. Lisa McClain. “The House has the power of the purse, and if there are schools out there that want to allow biological males to unfairly compete against females, then they need to find funding elsewhere. We cannot allow President Biden to undermine the sanctity of women’s sports, and I will never stop fighting for the rights of our daughters to compete fairly.”
President Biden has chosen to go to war against Title IX and women’s sports. He would rather follow his party's radical agenda than stand up for the women he pretends to support. Defending our daughters shouldn’t be a partisan issue. House Republicans will make certain that Title IX isn’t jeopardized by nonsensical political wars. Women have shown their strengths and athletic feats to the world, and their ability to compete on an even playing field without biological disadvantages is worth fighting for.
