WASHINGTON – Tomorrow, Sept. 10, 2024, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) will join congressional leaders at a ceremony to posthumously award the Congressional Gold Medal honoring the 13 American service members killed in the Abbey Gate terrorist attack on August 26, 2021, in Kabul, Afghanistan. The families of the 13 fallen service members will be present at the ceremony. McClain was the lead sponsor in the House on the legislation awarding the Medal.
