WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) sent a letter to the Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen demanding the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) reviews Chinese Communist Party (CCP) affiliated company Guoxuan High-Tech's investments in Michigan through subsidiary Gotion, Inc. This comes after Gotion, Inc. purchased 400 acres of land in Michigan to construct a lithium battery plant.
“Gotion is a CCP controlled company and they present a direct threat to my home State of Michigan and the entire country," said Rep. McClain. "I am demanding CFIUS takes a closer look at Gotion to ensure America's national security is not compromised by this battery plant."
Joining Rep. McClain in leading this letter to the Department of Treasury is Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Rep. John Moolenaar (R-MI), Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI), Rep. John James (R-MI), and Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL).
