WASHINGTON—Today, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) expressed strong support for the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, highlighting that it will significantly boost the economy and improve quality of life for Michigan families, help small businesses, and reward hard-working individuals.
“This historic legislation delivers real results for Michigan families and businesses,” Chairwoman McClain said. “This bill will create more opportunities for our local businesses to thrive and help hardworking Michiganders keep more of what they earn. We just avoided the largest tax increase in American history, reduced burdensome regulations, protected our most vulnerable citizens by sustaining Medicaid, and unleashed American energy. We are leaving behind Joe Biden’s disastrous economic policies. Under President Trump’s leadership, the Golden Age of America has just started.”
In Michigan alone, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will:
- Deliver a $11,700 increase in yearly take-home pay for a typical family of four.
- Increase disposable income for over 1.2 million Michigan families by an average of $1,200 annually.
- Allow Social Security beneficiaries to deduct $6,000 on their taxes.
- Permit the deduction of car loan interest on vehicles assembled in the U.S.
- Raise the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 for more than one million Michigan families.
- Lower the tax rate for over 700,000 small businesses to 20 percent.
