WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) introduced the Iran Nuclear Verification Act, a bill that forces the President to hold off on rejoining the Iran Nuclear Deal until the following conditions are met: Iran allows the UN Nuclear Inspectors full access to all their nuclear sites, and the UN Nuclear Inspectors finalize their comprehensive report on Iran’s nuclear activities.
This legislation comes at a critical time as Israel defends itself against Hamas, a terrorist organization that Iran fully supports and is covertly working to aid in their unjust war against the Israeli people.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is a disruptive, terrorist-ridden country that is hellbent on destabilizing the Middle East” said Rep. McClain. “The so-called Iran Nuclear Deal that President Obama negotiated has only empowered their nuclear capabilities and threatened global order, and President Biden has worked under a cloak of secrecy to renegotiate this same deal and further its impact. It’s well past time we prevent the United States from re-entering such a flawed and dangerous agreement with Iran, and I am proud to introduce a bill today to do just that.”
Joining Rep. McClain as cosponsors of this bill are: Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), Rep. Maria Salazar (R-FL), Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Rep. Rudy Yakym (R-IN), Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT), and Rep. William Timmons (R-SC).
