Oversight Hearing on Inflation
Yesterday, I took the gavel and led my Oversight subcommittee in a hearing examining how the Biden Administration’s reckless spending has driven inflation to 40-year highs. Biden's Budget Reveal
On Thursday, President Biden FINALLY released his budget proposal. To no surprise, his budget expanded federal spending at the taxpayer's expense. The Biden Administration also put on full display how out of touch Democrats really are. The Department of Homeland Security, which is responsible for securing our border, got a significant cut in funding. At the same time, the Environmental Protection Agency got the highest increase of any agency in the budget to push Biden’s Green New Deal Agenda. And how does he plan to pay for it? By creating more taxes. Parent's Bill of RightsI’m a mother of four children, and I know that one of the biggest things parents want is to be involved in their child’s education. But the Biden Administration labels concerned parents as domestic terrorists. Unlike Democrats, House Republicans know that parents aren’t domestic terrorists and that parents have a right to make decisions regarding their child’s education.
As a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, I am proud to stand up for parents and oppose any attempts to take these rights away. Upcoming Townhall
I want to meet and hear from you! I’ll be hosting an in-person town hall next Thursday, March 16th, at 2:30 p.m. at Milford Township Hall. Come out for a legislative update and an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Photos of the Week
On Wednesday, I met with Taiwan’s Representative to the United States, Bi-khim Hsiao. We had a great discussion about Taiwan’s independence and the ongoing threats from the Chinese Communist Party. The United States must always stand with Taiwan! This week, in honor of International Women’s Day, I joined the Association of Women’s Business Centers to speak about the remarkable progress that women have made in the private sector. On Thursday, I met with officials from Community Health Centers across Michigan’s Ninth District. We discussed the staffing shortages that the centers are still facing following the COVID-19 pandemic. Sometimes D.C. can be overwhelming. It helps to center myself and pray for our district, our state and our country. Thanks to Hope to the Hill for praying with me. Thank you all for your participation in the democratic process, enjoy your weekend. Sincerely, Member of Congress |
