Brown City Sewer Infrastructure Upgrades

Project Purpose: This project will replace old and outdated sewer and storm water lines throughout the community, which are rapidly deteriorating and cause sewage backup into the local school during periods of rain. The existing system is in critical condition, leading to flooding in the community and raw sewage to flood the local school during periods of rain.

M-81 Stormwater Management Improvements

Recipient: Village of Reese, 2073 Gates Street, Reese, MI 48757

Amount Requested: $1,650,000

Project Purpose: This project will install a new larger drain system from M-81 to the county drain in Reese, MI. The existing drain system is not sufficient to handle more than a couple of inches of rain at a time, which leads to frequent flooding of downtown businesses and residences as well as road closures along a major thoroughfare for the Thumb of Michigan. When the downtown floods, it is endangering the Village’s sanitary sewer system, so the project is twofold, both to mitigate flooding downtown and to prevent sewer overflows.

Brookfield Township Public Safety Facility

Project Purpose: This project would construct a new township hall and fire station to allow the Township to respond to emergencies and replace an undersized aging joint facility.

Silver and Liberty Street Improvement Project

Project Purpose: This project would install new water, storm, and sewer mains along Silver Street to Liberty Street in Bad Axe, Michigan. Furthermore, a new lift station will be installed to eliminate existing safety and confined space concerns as well as increase capacity at the City's existing industrial park, which will allow for more economic growth.

Jefferson Avenue Water Main Replacement

Project Purpose: This project will replace 4,900 feet of water main along Jefferson Avenue and 1,200 feet of water main along William P. Rosso Highway in Chesterfield, Michigan.

Project Purpose: The project will refurbish the Township's fire station as they transition from a volunteer department to a 24-hour full-time professional fire and paramedic service to serve the growing community.

Project Purpose: This project will replace aging water and sewer infrastructure and reline clay sewer lines to extend the useful service life by 60 years and repave town roads that will be torn up to repair this infrastructure.

Project Purpose: This project would replace existing lead service lines, water mains, and sewer mains along 4th Street in Imlay City to replace the existing 70-year-old infrastructure.

Fort Gratiot Parker Road Sewer

Project Purpose: This project would install a new 6,000-foot sewer line to serve 90 homes and a church. The existing sewer line was installed in the 1950s and is at critical risk of failure.

Silverwood Road from Clifford Road to Castle Road Resurfacing Project

Project Purpose: This project would crush and shape Silverwood Road from Clifford Road to Castle Road for a total of six miles. This project will restore this road to good condition, as the existing road is failing.

Northwest Oakland Sanitary Drain Sewer Extension

Project Purpose: This project will extend sanitary drain sewer access to four communities in northwest Oakland County for businesses in residents around Lake Louise and Bald Eagle Lake while in the process protecting the Flint River watershed from environmental hazards.

St. Clair Township Sanitary Pump Station Rehabilitation

Project Purpose: This project will rehabilitate three sanitary pump stations located in the St. Clair flood plain to address ground movement near a fault line. The wells will be reinforced with steel pile casings, upgraded pumps, valves, and control panels.
