WASHINGTON – House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) was named “Legislator of the Year” by the Major County Sheriffs of America (MCSA) for her legislative leadership on MCSA initiatives and steadfast support of law enforcement across the country.
“It’s an honor to be chosen by the sheriffs as their ‘Legislator of the Year.’ I will keep working to ensure law enforcement across America has the tools and resources needed to keep our communities and citizens safe,” Chairwoman McClain said.
“We are grateful for the continued work that Representative McClain has completed on many of our priorities during the last Congress and we look forward to partnering in the future to modernize and advance policing,” MCSA President Sheriff Bill Brown said.
“We are a bipartisan group of the largest sheriff’s offices in America, and we always recognize and appreciate support from legislators who go above and beyond supporting law enforcement. Representative McClain has been an outstanding partner for law enforcement in some very challenging times and is very deserving of this award,” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.
Oakland County Sheriff and MCSA Vice President Michael Bouchard presented Chairwoman McClain with the award on behalf of the association.
The Major County Sheriffs of America is a professional law enforcement association of the largest sheriff's offices across the country serving more than one-third of the United States population.
