McClain Statement on Passage of Government Funding
WASHINGTON - Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) tonight released the following statement after voting to avoid a government shutdown and provide critical funding and relief for American farmers and those recovering from natural disasters:
“Democracy can be messy. What matters is that we’re moving forward and paving the way for a new day and a new government under President Trump come January. If you needed any more proof that things are going to look different following Republican victories in November, this is it. The country can rest assured their government is staying open and help is on the way for Americans who are struggling.”
Background on the government funding legislation:
- Funds the federal government through March 14, 2025.
- $100 Billion in disaster relief for Americans affected by natural disasters.
- $10 Billion in direct economic aid to American farmers.
- One-year extension of the Farm Bill.
- Extends expiring health care programs through March 21, 2025.
