Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.J. Res.88 in a statement vote that would ensure President Biden cannot override the authority of the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Introduced by Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI), this resolution provides for Congressional disapproval of the Biden Administration's unconstitutional plan to cancel student loan debt for borrowers in an attempt to push through his free college agenda.

“President Biden’s disastrous free college plan is a slap in the face to Americans across the country who went to college and paid off their loans, and to Americans who never went to college in the first place,” said Rep. Lisa McClain “Trying to undermine the authority of the Supreme Court, even after they ruled this plan was unconstitutional shows us how little the President cares about our institutions, rather he will do whatever he can to force his radical agenda onto the nation.”

The Wharton Business School Budget Model estimates that the President’s plan would cost taxpayers nearly $500 billion over the next decade. Make no mistake, efforts to cancel student debt in the United States are nothing more than a luxurious handout to Biden’s elite backers, not a saving grace for hardworking Americans. House Republicans stand to help the Americans who take responsibility for their loans and pay their bills, not those who cry out for government assistance for their expensive choices.
