Signed into Law: Congresswoman McClain’s Patient Advocate Tracker Act
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Lisa McClain’s (MI-10) bill, H.R. 5754, the Patient Advocate Tracker Act was officially signed into law Friday afternoon.
The bipartisan Patient Advocate Tracker Act would create an online portal where veterans can track the status of formal complaints, they file through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
“I am thrilled that my bill, the Patient Advocate Tracker Act, was signed into law today" said Rep. McClain. "America's veterans have given everything to our country, and in return they deserve to receive the best possible health care. When a veteran files a complaint to the VA about inadequate care, they must be able to track that complaint through the VA system. Now, our nation's veterans can do just that."
This is Rep. Mcclain’s third bill passed into law. The Patient Advocate Tracker Act was introduced by Reps. McClain, Slotkin, Moolenaar and Dingell on October 27,2021. The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Patient Advocate Tracker Act on May 16, 2022. The U.S. Senate passed the Patient Advocate Tracker Act on September 8, 2022.
