WASHINGTON—Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 6329, the Quality Information Assurance Act, legislation led by House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.). The bill reins in unelected bureaucrats and forces federal agencies to base massive regulatory decisions on real facts—not sloppy analysis or political agendas.
“Washington bureaucrats shouldn’t be allowed to gamble with American jobs and family budgets using bad data,” Chairwoman McClain said. “For too long, agencies have pushed billion-dollar regulations behind closed doors with little accountability. This bill shines a light on the process and puts the American people back in charge.”
The Quality Information Assurance Act cracks down on the reckless regulatory culture in Washington by requiring federal agencies to use objective, high-quality data when writing rules that affect workers, families, farmers, and job creators. It strengthens oversight, raises information standards, and blocks costly regulations built on flawed or incomplete analysis.
