MICHIGAN— On Thursday, August 13, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.), in partnership with Michigan Works, hosted the inaugural Southeast Michigan Job Fair at Oakland University. The event connected employers with job seekers from across the region.
Joined by the Small Business Administration (SBA) Deputy Administrator Bill Briggs, the event connected nearly 700 hardworking Michiganders with 100 businesses. Participating companies included General Motors, McLaren Health Care, and ZF Axle Drives, each offering a wide range of positions, from entry-level to skilled roles.
“Events like the Southeast Michigan Job Fair are critical to connecting job creators with hardworking Michigan job seekers,” Chairwoman McClain said. “Through the Working Families Tax Cuts, America is getting back to work, and employers and employees alike are experiencing much-needed relief, helping fulfill the America First agenda by expanding opportunities to quality, high-paying jobs.”
